Yayap Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Im planing on buying a water cooling system and I was just wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions on good ones. What im really looking for is something quiet but also give good perforamce. Also I dont have and lot of money but I can afford some thing like 200-250$ maybe a little more if it is really good. Thanks
bloodking Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 only CPU or also other parts? you can build a system with CPU and GPU cooler for about 200 at dangerden. pick up an RBX with the dangerden pump and a maze4 GPU cooler and get yourself a chevette heater core from a car and some tubing from local hardware store. don't remember the exact heater core you can use but there are others that already use them so they can say which one you need. if you want good performance and very quiet i would go with a heater core as big as two 120mm fans
Guest ThermalGuru Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Whatever you end up getting, make sure it cools both the cpu and the graphics card. Video Games are getting ready to change big time this year and you are going to want some umph in your system to pull it off. Yayap Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 So where can you go to get a heater core and uif you get the parts from danger den do you have to build it your self or what?
Nuclear Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 You can pick a Chevette or Caprice heater core from any Advance, AutoZone, or NAPA auto parts store. They run around $20-30 depending on the store. I'm not sure I understand when you asked if they put the kit together. They will put a kit together for you, they offer packages. If that's not what you mean, I'm sorry. Sly_C Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 yeah danger den and dtek both make great water cooling systems, and you can either pick the parts would want or a buy a kit. its usually cheaper to pick the parts.

FanATIc205 Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 dtek's flowmaster kit with the enhiem 1250 pump upgrade and withewater block will come in under 250, and imho thats the best water cooling has to offer right now period unless of course you order a cascade block directly from cathar. broooooooce Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I believe that 1986 Chevette heater cores are okay from what I've read. Not sure how many 120mm's will fit on it, I think just one though
road-runner Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 what year on the heatercore do you need...and can you fit two 120mm fans on em? A 1980 ford truck heat core is a pretty decent one also
