j00f00 Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 I ended up getting the WD because it was a bit cheaper and I wanted to avoid getting two seagates next to each other (my 120gb seagate runs at about 35C or so, there's actually a temp monitor inside it that I can check up on using PCWizard). As for other drives, I have a 40gb maxtor and a 10gb Quantum Fireball in my server (yes, it's old). The Fireball has been in there since I got it and hasn't given me any problems at all. The Maxtor has been in for about 2 or 3 years, I can't remember, but it started clicking and whining about 3 months ago.
AYoKoNA Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 I use to go with WD...but once i got Seagate, i never went back.. Just personal preference..and Seagate make excellent SCSI drives.....
Mr_Yuck Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 good choice on the WD, it's cheaper...for deciding between Maxtor, WD, and Seagate, that's how i choose... though if they were all the same price, i would go with best warranty, or if those were the same, i would go with WD, cuz that's the only of the three i dont have yet...
