upgrading memory on laptop

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I want to add memory to the laptop, but I don’t know which one to choose?

laptop   Asus Transformer book TP550LD-CJ078H
https://mobilespecs.net/laptop/ASUS/Asus_Transformer_book_TP550LD-CJ078H.html

there is no free slot in it, so do you need a memory module for 8gb

manufacturer, frequency, voltage?

Make sure the laptop will handle a higher memory card first, sometimes if there is only one slot they will come with the highest card that will run. If it is capable take the old card out and get a larger one with the same specs, they should be on the old card.

Just so you know that link you provided is not a safe link, so guys avoid this post !

Here is the memory that is recommended by Crucial Memory:  https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/aSUS/transformer-book-flip-tp550ld

This is what it says about the memory:

Memory

Maximum Memory: 12GB

*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Slots: 1 (1 bank of 1)

Standard Memory: 4GB non-removable

It appears that the original 4GB is non-removable, but that there is another slot that can be populated for a maximum of 12GB.  I suggest that you check before buying new memory.

Looks like it has 4gb soldered onto the motherboard, with one single slot expandable up to 8gb, for a total of 12gb maximum combined.

If you search the web I'm sure you'll find videos of people doing RAM installs on similar models. Most have access panels under the bottom, or under the keyboard which can be more involved.
