What's The Best Hsf For A Barton?.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a ZALMAN CNPS7000A-Cu but it doesn't seem to be cutting it. Originally someone told me that I hadn't applied the thermal grease properly so i dismounted everything and whipped it clean and reapplied a thinner even amount and the temps are still 40-41C while idle at stock clockspeed and voltage. Anyways, what's the best HSF? I dont care for water cooling or any of that.

thanks

iosman

Not sure which Barton you are referring to? They range in TDP from 68.3 for the 2500 up to 79.2 for the 3200.

It's an older AMD Athlon XP socket A 462 chip so new coolers might be hard to find,.. if you can find the Vantec Aeroflow VA4-C7040 cooler, it should work fine.
