Comcast Begins Rolling Out Speed Upgrades

If you live in Oregon or Southwest Washington and have Comcast as your ISP, you may soon be seeing an upgrade to your downstream bandwidth. The company has begun what is believed to be a nationwide initiative in that location to bring better speeds to its customers. The Performance tier is going from 60 Mbps to 75 Mbps while Performance Pro increases from 150 Mbps to 175 Mbps. If you are on the Blast! tier the increase will be from 250 Mbps to 275 Mbps and then the Extreme tier is from 400 Mbps to 500 Mbps. Those using a modem from Comcast should see the speed improvement without needing a modem reset, but those who purchased their own may need to check if their model will be eligible.

If you are a customer but do not live in this Western division of Comcast, then hopefully the roll-out to your location will be soon. These upgrades are not coming at any extra cost; the tiers are going to be faster.
