Steam Library Redesign Entering Open Beta on September 17

Recommended Posts

Many of us access most of our PC games through the Steam library, which has looked and functioned the same for years. Valve has been working on a redesign and now we know it will be available to try starting September 17 as an open beta. Among the changes is a new landing page for your library to grant quick access to game updates, recently played games, friend activities, and collections. It will also be able to provide event notifications sent out by developers to let you know about updates and when something special is going on.

It will definitely be interesting to see what other new capabilities will be present in the redesign, especially for those of us with rather large libraries that they have already spent time organizing.

I just hope they won't do something similar to what Spotify did recently, where favorite albums/songs/etc move to the top after listening and the rest of the library is in quite a chaotic state...
