Last year Stardock released the Heroes of Star Control: Origins DLC for Galactic Civilizations III and on August 27 it is getting the very appropriate follow-up, Villains of Star Control: Origins DLC. With this comes four new playable races, with their own abilities, ship styles, and theme music.

First up we have The Measured that are sentient coral that were modified to serve as bureaucrats. In addition to the game's Bureaucrat ability, they also receive Mitotic, granting free administrators when colonizing new worlds. Next are the Pamyst, the galaxy's most polite cannibals that have the goal of bringing class and refinement to the otherwise messy galaxy. The Xraki are quite different, being fanatical monsters once used as shock troops, before being exiled to a different dimension. Lastly we have the Scryve, a people that were once idealistic and hopeful, but came to be twisted with corruption. Unlike the violent and intolerant Drengin in Galactic Civilizations III, the Scrye Empire is civilized, thoughtful, and methodical, while still being evil. They will have the Conquerors ability and the new Imperial ability. This new ability grants bonus health to ships in their territory, based on how many colonies have a zone of control contiguous with their home planet.

The Villains of Star Control: Origins DLC will be available on August 27 from Stardock, Steam, and GOG for $5.99.
