GeForce RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070 Super Now Available

Recommended Posts

It was on July 2 when NVIDIA finally introduced the world to its GeForce RTX 20-series Super graphics cards, and today they are finally available. By shifting to more powerful GPU dies, the RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070 Super are both more powerful than their predecessors, though this also came with bump in power usage too. The RTX 2060 Super is priced starting at just $399.99 and the RTX 2070 Super starts at $499, and are available today, both as Founder's Edition models from NVIDIA and from AIB partners with custom cooling solutions. The RTX 2080 Super will be available on July 23, with a starting price of $699.

NVIDIA is also offering a game bundle with select GeForce RTX GPUs, desktops, and laptops coming with copies of Control and Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which will both utilize ray tracing for lighting effects.

Also released today by NVIDIA is FrameView, a free piece of software for collecting frame time data and other performance metrics, both to log files and in an overlay. PresentMon is used to collect the frame data, but these other metrics include values such as power usage, and power usage per frame. Though webpage states it is able to collect GPU power consumption for AMD GPUs as well, I quickly tested it and nothing was reported for power on my AMD GPUs. FrameView is still in beta though, so hopefully that issue and any others will be fixed before long.
