EK Announces Radeon RX 5700 Series Water Blocks, Shipping July 26

Recommended Posts

For those interested in AMD's newly launched Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards and wanting to water cool them, EK Water Blocks has already announced full coverage blocks for them. The EK-Vector Radeon RX 5700 +XT RGB blocks support the reference designs for both the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT graphics cards and will directly cool the GPU, VRAM, and VRM. While the 7 nm manufacturing processed and new architecture make the Navi GPUs more efficient than previous AMD GPUs, they are also much smaller, resulting in greater thermal density. This can make water blocks all the more effective at getting the most performance out of the graphics card, with EK claiming as much as 10-20% better results, depending on workload.

There are two versions of the water block, one featuring an acrylic top and the other black POM acetal, while the bases are high-grade copper or nickel-played electrolytic copper. The acrylic top has RGB lighting covering the entire block while the black acetal version has it in the aesthetic white corner piece. The block terminal also has an RGB lit cover piece to it. There are also two full-length backplates, both made from aluminum but one is anodized black and the other is nickel plated.

These parts are up for pre-order already and will be shipping on July 26. The MSRP for the blocks are $134.99 and $139.99 for the black POM acetal and acrylic versions, respectively, while the backplates are $32.99 and $39.99 for the anodized black and nickel plated versions, respectively.
