Keeping your computer's components cool is necessary to get the best performance out of them, especially when overclocking them, which is why there are so many options to choose from, from air coolers, to all-in-one liquid coolers, to custom liquid coolers. As the prospect of building your own cooling system can be a daunting one, there are kits with all of the necessary components included to make entering custom liquid cooling more accessible and recently EK Water Blocks announced it is upgrading the fans it includes with a number of its kits.

The EK kits all include the company's Vardar fans, but where before it was the F3-120 models used, these upgraded kits will come with the F4-120ER fans instead. These fans have a higher maximum RPM of 2200, compared to 1850 RPM, enabling greater cooling performance for when you need it. These are also extended range fans, referring to the PWM duty cycle, which stretches down to 25%. The F3-120 fans only went down to 50% so these new fans will allow one to run the fans slower and therefore also quieter.

Here is a list of the kits that will include these new fans:

  • EK-KIT X240 and EK-KIT X360
  • EK-KIT P240 and EK-KIT P360
  • EK-KIT L240 (R2.0) and EK-KIT L360 (R2.0)
  • EK-KIT S240 and EK-KIT S360
  • EK-KIT HT360
