I hope my Signature is stil intact but in case it's not i'll describe my current build (bought in 2010 and still gaming perfectly). Processor: I7 950 3.2ghz Memory; Patriot 3x2gb 1600mhz Monitor: 20" samsung monitor HDD: 1tb WDWatercooling: H60 Watercooling Case: Thermaltake v9 Black Case PSU; Thermaltake 750wGPU: Originally was a EVGA 460gtz but I bought from a friend a Zotac 760 gtx 4gb which I believe is dead or faulty (happened 2 days ago). This forces me to update ALL MY SYSTEM. Basic things.I will play on 1920x1080 Max (once I get a new Monitor, current one supports 1600x900). I will keep the Case, PSU, Watercooling, HDD, and Monitor (for now) I need (can't decide: Processor: AMD (Generally cheapier than Intel but regarding performance is lower so.. INTEL (I was thinking in i7 7700k 4.2ghz or 8700 3.2ghz.a) what is the deal with the K on intels? I do not plan on overclocking. Never did, never will.b) Hhere is a comparisson and the 8700 is less power consuming, right? Cooler also. Been out of hardware industry for a long time.. so I don't have ANY idea what to look for. For sure I do not want a GAMING Motherboard with lights and fancy expensive things. I want a solid motherboard with 1x PCI Express ( I don't think I will add 2 cards never). USB 3.0 (all mobos have) and 4 DIM Slot could be better than 2. GPU: I'm pretty sure I will still choose Nvidia 1060gtx 6gb (probably the Gigabyte). Never bought AMD so It might be good but I trust on nvidia.. except for my shitty Zotac... (we can discuss about it later) Memory: 2x8gb 2400mhz (no more Mhz or Size) That is plenty enough for me. I saw a Corsair for a decent Price. There is a need for faster memory beyond 2400 and video cards very much need more than 1x PCIE Slots. 8x PICE 3.0 is enough for "most" 4K gaming. Some cards won't even run on 1x besides to cryto mine with. Going from where you are current at, Even AMD Ryzen CPUs will be night and day in comparison. The Ryzen CPU isn't that far off with higher speed memory. Ryzen CPU can gain 10 FPS simply switching from 2400 to 3200 memory in some games. It will bridge the gap fairly well. You will want 2933 - 3200 memory or you are wasting those extra FPS. Right now 3200 memory is cheaper than 2400. No reason not to go faster. Personally I would do this: AMD MB: MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC CPU: Ryzen 2700X GPU: GTX 1660 Ti (Not 1060) Memory: G.SKILL Flare X 16GB (2X8GB) F4-3200C16D-16GFX (F4-3200C16D-16GVRB Should work also). I had (F4-3200C14D-16GVK) in my Threadripper build, even though it wasn't on the QVL list, its Samsung B-Die so it worked fine. Intel: MB: GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS MASTER CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K (6Core 3.7Ghz) GPU: GTX 1660 Ti Memory: Intel isn't picky with ram, but I would still suggest 16GB 3000 / 3200 Kit. I'm from Argentina, the 3200mhz memory is 2x price of 2400mhz. I just checked it. I have tested myself long time ago with 1000-1600mhz memory and there's not a single fps win. I don't know nowadays but I won't play in 4k as I said max FullHD. 1600ti is 50% more expensive than 1060. I really can't afford all that extra price. Regarding processor. I didn't knew!!! They are top selling in here. For what I can see i5 9600k is same or cheapier than the 7700k. The AMD 2700x is an option too.The motherboard GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS MASTER Also not an option. Prices goes from $AR18.000 to $AR20.000. I've seen pretty good motherboards such as MSI z390 A-PRO or ASUS b-350 STRIX GAMING which is less than half the price. I can't affor that gigabyte.I would have to work 3 months to buy all those components meanwhile I was thinking more like 1 month. Also unless you are planning on getting 2933-3200 memory, I would go with Intel instead. AMD Ryzen really needs fast ram to preform good. Intel doesn't have the problem. Different design of the memory bus and internals. Memory speed for the AMD Ryzen is significant. It can be easily 10-15 FPS going from 2400 to 3200. It has a bigger impact than DDR2 days. Is cheapier than i7 7700k and i7 8700. So I could reach for a better videocard. After all I want PC for Gaming so My best bet is the Videocard, RAM Mhz or CPU isn't going to make big difference. I've been reviewing and I don't get why new processors got Hyperthreading disabled. Looks like a bad thing (to me). And BTW is a 9600k. I believe the 9700k is pretty much superior In another article I've read the new architecture of RTX is way too new and someone will wait before getting it. What I can tell you is i'm building for a machine that last 8-10 years as the same I'm using which is 9 years. I play varied (Single Player). The only On-Line game I Play is LOL (no need much hardware for this). Then I'd like to Play Metro Exododus and I will DEFINITELY want to play Atomic Heart.
