G.Skill Announces Hexa-Channel DDR4 Kits for 28-Core Intel Xeon W-3175X CPU

Recommended Posts

At Computex 2018, Intel showed off a number of products, including a 28-core CPU it overclocked to 5 GHz. That massive CPU is now known as the Xeon W-3175X and G.Skill has announced DDR4 memory kits for it. The processor supports hexa-channel, so six or twelve module kits are needed to fully access the potential memory bandwidth, and so there are new Trident Z Royal six-channel kits that can reach up to DDR4 4000 CL17-18-18-38 at 1.35 V. At that speed you will be able to get a 48 GB kit (8 GB x 6), 96 GB kit (8 GB x 12), or a 192 GB kit (16 GB x 12). At that speed the memory was able to reach a read bandwidth of 122 GB/s and write of 112 GB/s in AIDA64.

At the lower, but still impressive speeds of 3600 MHz (CL17-18-18-38) and 3200 MHz (14-14-14-34 or 16-18-18-38) you can get these same capacity kits and another 96 GB kit option, with 8 GB x 12. All of these kits support Intel XMP 2.0 for easy overclocking to these tested speeds and will be available from G.Skill's distribution partners.
