Guest_Jim_* Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Earlier this week there were rumors that AMD's CES-announced Radeon VII graphics card might only have a total of 5000 units made. While production numbers have not been shared, AMD has made a statement that it expects "Radeon VII supply to meet demand from gamers." As there are undoubtedly more than 5000 gamers who will want to purchase the most powerful gaming GPU AMD makes, this rumor is false. Another part to that rumor though was that we would not see any Radeon VII cards with AIB customer coolers and while that is not clear if this will happen, AMD also stated its AIB partners are getting the cards. It is possible these will still be the reference design, but sold under the partner's name, similar to how my RX Vega 64 is the reference design but it was sold by Gigabyte. Only time will tell if these partners are going to apply their custom cooling solutions, but at least if you are going to wait for such a graphics card, you may not need to worry about the supply running out first.
