Tom Clancy's The Division 2 launches on March 15 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, but those who pre-order and are lucky enough to get invites will get to try to private beta starting February 7. There will be more information on the private beta as we approach February, but if you are someone who is looking forward to jumping into a ruined Washington DC, know this beta will run from February 7 to February 10.

Also shared recently was more information on multiplayer in The Division 2, including that it will launch with two ways to enter it. The first are the three Dark Zones, where you will find the hybrid PvE/PvP gameplay the original game introduced players to. Here you can hunt enemy factions and other players to collect valuable resources, and with each Dark Zone being in its own neighborhood of Washington DC, each has its own stories too. The mechanics are evolving though, adding more ways to get valuable loot and betray other players, such as becoming a thief, robbing locked chests or stealing the contents of the drop, getting you more than normal. You will be marked Rogue for doing this, but if you complete more Rogue actions, you can eventually gain access to the Thieves' Den, wiping your Rogue status and gaining access to a special vendor. As you collect loot, you will find some of it needs to be decontaminated, which will require a helicopter extraction from certain locations, making for a tempting target for Rogue players. However, some loot will be clean when you find it, allowing you to equip it when you wish and keep it if you die. Dark Zones will be normalized though, so you should not have to be too worried about being outclassed when in there, at least not until you reach the endgame and find the locations are Occupied for periods of time. Occupied Dark Zones are not only not normalized but do not identify who is and is not Rogue and friendly fire is always on.

The second way to enter multiplayer is with Conflict, organized PvP firefights. There are three custom maps for this and at launch it will have two modes; Skirmish and Domination. Skirmish is a team deathmatch with revive tickets and Domination is about controlling strategic points. Conflict will be normalized like the Dark Zones as well, but will also have its own progression track and rewards to earn.

The Division 2 will release for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on March 15. Quick reminder that it will not be available on Steam, at least not at launch, but it will be available on the Epic Games Store.
