HTC has announced and shown off some new Vive hardware at CES, including the Vive Pro Eye and developer kit for a future headset, the Vive Cosmos. The Vive Pro Eye is similar to the Vive Pro announced at CES 2018 but has built-in eye tracking for new interaction abilities. This includes gaze-oriented menu navigation without the need for controls, foveated rendering to focus graphical detail where one is looking, and the ability for businesses and developers to track how people interact with a virtual world. The Vive Pro Eye is expected to launch in 2019Q2.

The Vive Cosmos is the newest VR headset from Vive and will work without the need for external base stations, making it easier to set up and take with you. It will also be the first Vive headset to work with the Vive Reality System that will be a new design experience for VR. Though the first developer kits will be available in early 2019, general availability and price will come later in the year.

Also announced was Viveport Infinity, a change to the Viveport subscription model. Until April 5 when Infinity becomes available, members of the subscription service could try five titles a month, but with Infinity there will no longer be a limit on the number of titles you can try. This includes titles from indie developer and shorter experiences you might not have trusted to spend your money on before. Viveport Infinity content can be accessed across current and future Vive devices, the Oculus Rift, and the devices in the Wave Eco-system.
