Guest_Jim_* Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Cooler Master has announced its newest series of cases, the SL series with the first entry being the MasterCase SL600M. With this series, Cooler Master intends to have case designs that blur the line between work and play. The SL600M uses sand-blasted anodized aluminum for its exterior, which is also without any RGB features, so it can aesthetically fit in offices at home and at work, but the insides can still hold high-end gaming hardware. To help keep things cool, it takes advantage of heating naturally rising by moving around where you place some components. The power supply, instead of being in the back of the case on the bottom, it is actually in the top front while a pair of 200 mm fans pull air in from the bottom. The top panel can be raised above a mesh covering to improve airflow, or completely removed. If you are concerned that graphics could block this airflow, the PCI mounting window not only supports having a vertically mounted GPU, but can be turn so two cards can be installed with this orientation. The IO panel of the SL600M has a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, all Type-A, and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port. There is also a PWM fan speed slide, and the usual microphone and headphone jacks. The USB ports also have lights on them, activated by a proximity sensor behind the panel, to temporarily illuminate them when you need. The case supports motherboards from mini-ITX up to ATX, and some E-ATX boards, provided they are smaller than 12 in x 10.7 in, but they may limit cable management features. The MasterCase SL600M is up for pre-order today on Newegg with an MSRP of $199.99. It is backed by a two-year warranty.
