Hi there!!

So have this configuration:

i5 6600K on Z170 motherboard
GTX 1060 6gb
SSD M2 250gb
Dark Rock 3 cooler

So want to OC i5 on 4.8 and just want to know if I get high temperature will it help to mount another fan on Dark Rock 3. I have one 135mm on one side.. Idea is to put 120mm on other side so there would be push-pull. Will I get better cooling?

Thanks!!

Welcome to OCC Sgt.

That's a great single fan cooler,.. and adding push-pull with 120mm fan would lower your temps. BQ sends extra fan clips with dark rock 3 cooler for adding 120mm fan,.. you can buy Silent Wings 3 120mm PWM fan, Y-cable, and fan clips if you need them from PPCS.  http://www.performan...high-speed.html

Thanks!!

So basic.. my i5 6600k is OC on 4.5 and tower is ok, have two 140mm fans in front and one on back. And soon there will be two on top (120mm)

On aida stress test I have top 70° … with another fan on Dark Rock 3 just want to get temperature more down..

4.5GHz and 70c under load is vary nice OC with single fan air-cooler.

Skylake chips tend to get a little hot at 1.4V,.. and most need that or more to run 4.8GHz stable.

Must check bust I think I am stable on 4.5 and 1.320v.. and 70° top..

Idea is to go a bit up with freq and stay under 70° ... Hoping to get that with second fan on Dark Rock 3..

So just one more question.. what is safe voltage and temperature for my gigabyte z170 motherboard settings and i5 6600k?

You should be fine with 1.4V to 1.45V and 80c to 85c,.. https://docs.google....64e8/edit#gid=0
