It is a little weird to think about any video game series as being 25 years old, but that is exactly the case for The Settlers franchise. To celebrate this, Ubisoft is releasing History Editions of all seven games, with the first, The Settlers I History Edition being available right now on Uplay. Come November 15 though, you will be able to get The Settlers History Collection that contains all of the History Editions, which have all of their respective game's expansions and have been updated with game improvements and optimizations for modern computers and Windows 10. If you only want specific titles though, they will each be available separately as well.

The announcements are not done for this series though, as the character walking by at the end of the above trailer suggests. Ubisoft has also announced a new entry is coming to the franchise. Developed by Blue Byte, The Settlers will be a reboot of this build-up strategy brand and will have modernized versions of gameplay elements from the original games, and new features as well. A new food system, multi-worker job system, and more victory methods will all be there. This new game will be built on the Snowdrop engine and will launch in Fall 2019.
