The GTX 1170 has already been labeled a “1080 Ti killer,” based on previous leaks. This newest leak, if true, will confirm it. It allegedly has a 256-bit memory interface and 16GB of GDDR6 memory, with about a 2.5GHz clock speed. If these rumors prove true, this video card will be 38% faster than the GTX 1080.

There are a few problems with this leak, however, so take this information with a grain of salt. Firstly, it’s based off a picture of a screen (rather than a screenshot), which can obviously be faked quite easily. Second, 3DMark’s online database doesn’t have a locatable entry on this photo. Third, this is displayed as “GTX 1170,” instead of “generic VGA”, which is what usually happens with early graphics card leaks. 3DMark usually has specs but no name with a graphics card leak this early on. The last red flag is that the clock speed is so high. A 2.5GHz speed out of this would be extremely unlikely. It looks like this new card will be one to watch out for, but as for these specs being true, I’m not holding my breath.
