New Build....Finally

So I haven't built a new PC in a long time so here is what I went with:

 

New PC:

 

Intel i7 8700k

ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING Aura RGB

16GB DDR-4 2400 Corsair Vengeance LPX

Asus ROG Strix Geforce 1080

Intel 545 series 512GB SSD,

Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 750W Gold Full Modular PS

Corsair Hydro Series H55 120mm Liquid CPU Cooler

 

Old PC

 

Intel i7 3700k

Asus Maximus Gene IV

16GB DDR 3 Gskill Ripjaws

EVGA 980 FTW

Samsung 512 EVO

Corsair HX 700 Watt PS

Hyper Evo 212 Cooler

 

So parts have been ordered, anyone have an opinion on what I went with?

That looks like a very solid new build. Is the RAM a 2x8GB kit? The H55 should be good for some nice overclocking, then can step up to more if you want to push it further.

Yes 2x8 in case I want to go 32gb

Yeah, I probably could have gotten some more out of this system but it's been long enough. I'll post some numbers once I get everything squared away.

Got it all put together, all software is installed. I ran some 3dmark tests and it runs so smooth at 1440 with everything jacked. I will say this, it's not as much as an improvement from my last rig as I thought it would be.  I'll post some screenshots tonight.

Looks like a solid build. Im using the Z370 platform for my Video card test rig and it is an improvement over the Z170 rig I was using.

So that H55 water cooler is keeping your temps down at stock? That water cooler is for previous generation intel processors not for the 8th generation. I would of went with a 240mm radiator or 360mm. H100i or the H110i/115i.
