Everything Cryptocurrency Thread!

I just thought I'd share my very different setup. I'm mining Monero on three dual-socket HP servers. I have 70-80 threads running on 3 Debian VMs depending on load. I mine with cpuminer-easy, a fork of cpuminer. At full tilt, I can get 2000 H/s. It doesn't make much money, especially with the diminishing Monero rewards, but I don't pay for power as my servers are racked at work. Here's a screenshot of CPU resource usage on vSphere.

Not to shabby for cpu mining.., why don't you try a less popular cryptonight coin.., or what about varium... might boost your profit a tiny bit.

Edit: Verium is spelled Verium, not Varium

I've been thinking about switching to another cryptonight coin, Monero profits are starting to slow down drastically now that its value has spiked. I'll check out Verium and perhaps others, thanks for the tip.

If you add a pcie riser slot, graphics card to those servers,.. that would boost your profits drastically.

I've been debating getting a GPU to add to the mix, but given that I'll be moving abroad sometime in 2018, I'd rather not buy things I'll have to deal with the hassle of selling later on. Some cards would definitely speed up the mining process though that's for sure!

Zclassic is still going up. I guess its because a fork is coming up for create Bitcoin Private and you are given 1:1 ratio when it happens. It went from $9 a few days ago to $105 just a few minutes ago. I wish I bought more when it was cheap, but I didn't expect it to go past $20. Oh well...

Hush also has exploded but only one exchange trades it so its kinda a pain. I still might buy like a 100 and sit on it for awhile. Maybe by than the other exchanges will list it. However I don't know why it took off. The GUI wallet sucks and that's the only way to store coins.

Edit: Someone keeps DDOS attacking Supernova Pool. It still works, but I'm losing out due to blocks being found elsewhere sooner. Switched to Mining Pool Hub and be problem free so far. Its actually a really good idea to crash the competitors pools. Someone is finding a lot of blocks while supernova is being attacked.

FYI, if you don't care about ZClassic and the upcoming fork for Bitcoin Private than you might want to consider mining ZenCash or another alt coin that has lost a good number of miners due switching pools. Hold onto those coins and than around Feb when the caze ends all the other big alt coins will shoot back up. It won't be as much money, but at least its better than the unknown. BTCP can either stabilize at $300 or drop to $85. It may even hit 1k. But no one knows. Zencash on the other hand has been gaining a dollar or two a week. Doesn't seem to care about whatever else is going on.

Well sh# . No wonder private coins took off in the last 2 weeks.

Anyone know of goos exhanges outside america that doesnt need an ID? I dont mind paying taxes when cashing out, but per trade is stupid. This effectively ends home mining as if your unlucky 20% return is all you get after a year anyways,

Meh, as long as you aren't mining to an exchange there's really no way for anyone to know..., as for trades, I swing trade a lot so I'm just gonna pay taxes on them now I guess.., if you are a holder it still doesn't change much.
