Help! Broken monitor

Probably around a year ago I bumped the bottom of my monitor with my mouse and it started making these crazy wild lines and colors all over the place. The display powers on and connects to PC via HDMI just fine, but it's completely unusable in it's current state. I've attached some pictures to show exactly what's going on with it. I'm wondering if there's any possibility of repairing it, whether myself or to a professional. I've read into anything I can find, there's dozens of cases about a broken back light or capacitors causing the monitor to turn off frequently - but this problem doesn't really fall into this. 

Any help or advice on whether this is fixable would be much appreciated! 


EDIT for clarity: the bottom plastic part was the region bumped, near the Asus logo.

Yes I have tried both options, a different HDMI cable and I've tried the Display Port connection.

I have a similar issue with a roughly 4yr old ASUS monitor oddly hitting it (on the back near the top) fixes it for a few weeks, been like that for over a year now.  With that said it has more issues while connected with displayport or HDMI than with VGA or DVI (I bought it in the first place because it had all 4 options) PS ASUS "3yr" rapid replacement warranty is bullshit if they decide to no longer stock your model but do try if by some chance you're still under warranty and it doesn't LOOK physically damaged anyway.

 

You may want to consider opening it up and seeing it anything is damaged and pressing on the panel/connectors.  That could cause similar issues and might be a free fix if bending parts back/re-seating cables works.  Some displays have a fair number of connections internally and you might get lucky.  Of course there may just be physical damage to the panel and while laptop LCD panels are pretty easy to find it's usually a lot more hat and miss (and many times less cost effective) to replace in a standard monitor.  With that said the problem looks more with image processing.connections than broken panel based one what I think I see in the pictures.

 

It's funny in the over a year mine has been broken I haven't taken my own advice and popped it open because hitting it keeps working  I guess you could just try hitting it harder...
