what power supply would be needed for a loaded threadripper?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if they have Threadripper on there yet but EVGA has a nice little power meter you can punch all of your components into and it will give you recommendations on what you need. If you are logged in when you do it, they will usually email you a pretty hefty coupon to use on one of the recommended power supplies they list.

I had this same question. I have a corsair 650 watt that I just bought for a ryzen 1700x system, that is recently returned. I am holding out for a threadripper myself. I am starting to think that the corsair 650 that I just bought wont be enough for the best threadripper chip and a 1080TI.... What do you guys think?

650watts is enough for practically any Single CPU and GPU setup if you are not overclocking....maybe some overclocking depending on the setup.

I got a 1080Ti on a 3960X balls to the wall folding and only pulling 500watts from the wall. No OC is about 430.
