Why do you fold?

I Fold for Alzheimer's but hope the research helps all they are working towards helping, so i check "Any Disease" 

I started folding for My Grandparents who both had Alzheimer's. My father in law has early onset Alzheimer's. My Father and I are at a higher risk. I will continue to fold when ever I can for all who are afflicted. Heres to hoping they find a cure!

 Just curious how many of you guys have immediate family your folding for, Prayers and best wishes from my family to all of yours!

 My family is riddled with cancer deaths on both sides.So It's the least I can do is try and help by doing as much folding as my pc can do..Did stop for awhile till my cousin who is exactly 1 year older died of cancer.Started back up shortly  after the funeral.

 Going to try and convince the son to fold a cpl days a month or more  on his freshly built machine.That should help some also.1800x and a 1080.

If you understand the problem it's one step closer to finding out why it happens in the first place.Which can be a good thing.

Is this as lucrative as mining altcoin? Or you just like the added reward for helping good research.

I figure I'm folding for science,.. but it's nice to make a few bucks also,.. your not going to get rich, but you can upgrade your rig every year.

 

The point system also creates a means of competition for those that enjoy competition.  Stanfords concept behind folding is teamwork. When enough people help a little, a lot gets done.

Not to shabby, is that just from dumping right away, or did you make some good investments as well?

 

I've got a couple miners going, but their power isn't really being used for the greater good which makes me sad. I'll have to look into foldingcoin a bit more, I've seen it on some exchanges, but never really thought about it.

I check Poloniex  https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_fldc  every morning during breakfast, and always buy low & sell high.

I have been folding since 03 with an accumulation of 1,452,147,199 points on various teams and users names to maybe help find some cures for diseases to help science etc. I have to admit I was ready to throw in the towel not long ago and even shut down awhile till folding coin come out. It helps with hardware cost and electricity...

Alzheimer's research for me lost my grandma and mom to it have another aunt I am close to thanks to early onset in a nursing home and my family is high risk for it
