CheeseMan42 Posted April 17, 2017 According to public broadcaster NHK, Apple is considering teaming up with partner Foxconn for an investment in the semiconductor unit of Toshiba. The multi-billion dollar deal would grant the partnership more than 20% of the Toshiba unit. Toshiba isn't looking to sell outright in order to ease "the Japanese government's concerns over any transfer of sensitive technology to investors it deems a risk to national security." Apple and Foxconn join three other entities submitting bids for the Toshiba unit which includes Broadcom, SK Hynix, and Western Digital.
