4690k to ryzen ?

so i have a [email protected] paired with a 980 ti  and i want to upgrade to ryzen but not sure 

the 1500x looks good but not sure if it will be an improvement 

any thought ?

After a quick google of both cpu's I think you should stay with what you have, the intel is faster for some programs you may run, then again I don't know what you use your pc for, there are a lot of comparsions on line .The 1700x would give you a much better improvment, but you have to add in the cost of a new mb also with either of the cpu's you choose.

You won't get much benefit from gaming if that's your main focus.  In fact some games might be worse since Ryzen doesn't seem to overclock as high and it's not much better than haswell clock-for-clock.  If you can benefit from the extra threads or other features then sure go for it.  If it's just for gaming, not worth it IMO.

ok should i keep my curent set up and another 980 ti or upgrade to 1600x or 7600k with one 980 ti

If the board is compatible, you could go for the i7 4xxx series instead of going ryzen (seeing you need to upgrade quite a bit before you go to a new platform)

i7 is a good improvement these days, especially when it comes to gaming performance (see digital foundry's video's (youtube) for this, they have a good comparison video there)

 

Otherwise, if you are not lacking any performance now, just keep what you have, it is still a good system and should carry you well into 2018 before showing any real bottlenecks.

You're not going to be lacking any performance for gaming right now.  Like Weeny said, an i7 instead of an i5 would be a nice upgrade but starting fresh will cost much more than any real benefit you'll get from Ryzen (if just gaming).  With your setup I'm not really sure what is driving you to think you need to upgrade.  A 980ti even by itself is still more powerful than even a 1070 and that's still a good enough card even for 1440p gaming.  If you have a 1080p monitor then I really don't understand since you'll probably be fine with your current setup for a few more years.
