The Nintendo Switch has been available for just 10 days, and it has already fallen victim to its' first successful hack. The vulnerability was discovered by iOS hacker qwertyoruiop and is caused by the inclusion of version 9.3 of the iOS WebKit, which contains a known exploit that was fixed in version 9.3.5. It is unclear why this compromised version of the WebKit was used by Nintendo, but it could have had something to do with getting the Switch out before the end of the current fiscal quarter. It is also unclear just how the exploit can impact users as it "hasn't revealed any detailed information on the Switch yet, nor does it hand over full kernel access to hackers."
