CheeseMan42 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Rumors about an updated version of the PlayStation 4 with support for 4K resolution and increased power for VR support began to swirl in March, continuing into April. Sony later confirmed that it was working on an updated PlayStation 4, code-named Neo, but didn't offer much more than that. Last month, Amazon Spain may have inadvertently leaked a release date of October 13 at a price of €399.99. It now appears that Sony is planning to release a slim PS4 in addition to the Neo, perhaps targeting users that don't want to pay the premium for the updated hardware. Sources have told the Wall Street Journal that both models will be officially announced at a press event in New York on September 7, which would line up nicely with the previously leaked information from Amazon.
