Guest_Jim_* Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Today, Ubisoft announced a VR game that is certainly going to capture the imagination of a great many, as it puts the player into a classic science fiction universe. Star Trek: Bridge Crew puts the player on the bridge of the U.S.S. Aegis on its maiden voyage to explore The Trench, searching for a potential new home world for the Vulcan species. You are not alone in this region of space, as the Klingon Empire has ships of its own in the area. The game is being developed by Red Storm Entertainment, an Ubisoft Studio, and is being designed exclusively for VR. It is meant to take advantage of the sense of social presence the technology provides by giving co-op players full-body avatars and real-time lip-sync. The crew can consist of four players in the roles of Captain, Helm, Tactical, and Engineer, with each position being equally important to success. It can also be played solo, where you are in the role of the Captain, issuing orders to NPC crew mates. Star Trek: Bridge Crew launches this Fall and will be available for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.
