Black64 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Are you modding or starting from scratch? If your modding, you want to start with a pre-built case and mod it(recommended). Assuming this is for a wood desk, I would lay the motherboard on the surface you want it mounted, use a pen to mark the holes, then install motherboard standoffs by drilling holes slightly smaller than the threads, add glue. I have seen standoffs that are longer on the threaded end, or your best bet is to get 6-32 couplers and screws, drill holes clean through the wood and install the screws from the backside into the coupler. Makes it much more solid but will cost more. A window box... Plexiglas or acrylic, or another plastic. Look up how they make fish tanks, or how to bend the materials. CAINuKe Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I started simple. making new places to mount fans for my super high end ATi Radeon 9550 and celeron. Then took a dremel to a eMachines case to put a custom window in it. Started mastering paint. Now I fabricate cases from scratch with acrylic and aluminum.
