Notebook screen goes black when watching videos

I've been banging my head for a while with this issue and can't figure it out...

I have a Clevo np2615 notebook whose display turns off during video playback or while playing video games. It has a 4th gen i7 with intel 4600 integrated graphics. It isn't a heat issue, a driver issue, or a backlight issue. Could it be a faulty part? I'd hate to throw this laptop away as its barely a year old and cost over 1000 bucks. Usually the only fix for this display issue is to hit the power button to make it sleep and then wake it back up. It'll happen on and off the charger. I've looked very closely and the backlight isn't just off, there's absolutely nothing displayed on the screen.

Only during GPU stress? Could you try disabling hardware deciding and see if it continues?

See, I thought it was directly related to GPU stress, but I ran furmark for 30 minutes the other day with no issues! But in the past, its done it playing age of empires. It seems to be GPU related, as it only ever happens when the GPU is stressed, but it doesn't happen every time the GPU is stressed. There doesn't seem to be any other pattern.

What's hardware deciding? You mean decoding?

Also, did some googling, tried to turn off hardware acceleration but I don't have the option to do so.

Would it be a worthwhile test to hop on teamviewer, remote on, and let the display go black just to see what happens?

Yeah, decoding. Stupid phone.

You should be able to run pure software decoding and rendering in VLC with a few setting changes.

Any warranty since it's not very old?

Still, changing to software decoding doesn't stop the problem from happening entirely, and it'll always do it during age of empires (seeing a trend with my video game choices?).

1 year Sager warranty which has expired. I couldn't send it back if I wanted as its pretty cost prohibitive to ship it to the US from France.
