IUMaestro Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 I recently doscovered the sound improvments of using the kX audio drivers over Creative's crap drivers. Only one complaint though, I'm using an Audigy 2, and with creative's drivers the microphone worked great. With kX I can't seem to get any sound out of mic. I've tried all the different jakcs and everything. can anybody help me out?
Eva_Unit_0 Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Amen to that, the KX drivers ROCK. They're infinatley better than creative's drivers. Anyway, the mic is probably just muted in the mixer. The stock settings for the mixer is to have just about everything muted...just go through the mixer and un-mute everything until it works. That's what I had to do to get my line-in to work with my audigy.
IUMaestro Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 woot kX Well after unmuting, and boosting the mic in the AC97 section of the mixer I figured that's what your talking about. but it doest seem to work. Could you possibly point me exactly where to find the settings i need to change? I'm getting no signs of input. Does the mic still go in the pink input jack with these drivers? Thanks
Some_Guy_ Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 This may be a dumb question, but is the mic unmuted under the recording section of the mixer/volume controls?
IUMaestro Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 no it's not a dumb question, but yea that's unmuted as well. it's a very old mic, it's possibly the hardware, but if that's the case i'd expect it to at least send white noise or something instead of the dead silence i get, like a mute. I dunno, even after tweaking all the mute/volume settings i still have no sign of life. Does anybody have a good knowledge of the kX mixer layout that could help me??
