First (left) is the main auction window with a bid entered and ready to submit that is only a few bucks higher. The second window has another a few bucks higher than that one and the third is my max and "bow out" window. I click the first window with 8-10 seconds to spare. If I'm high bidder right away, I leave it unless the bid count starts flying and I have to engage the second and third window. I make sure I don't get caught up in the ego war by making sure the third window is the MAX that "I" would pay... not just to outbid everyone else.
