NCC10281982B Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 going forward, should usb-c be a connection I should have on my rig? my new mobo does not have it but it has usb 3.1. I have seen add-in cards that have both 3.1 & C ports and lable the ports as one and the same. Here is a great deal on the StarTech 4-port PCI Express USB 3.0 card Model PEXUSB3S42 , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4M53E25845 I found. Waco Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 I wouldn't go out of your way to find something with it (assuming you're talking about a desktop). You can always add a card later or get an adapter (for mobile use). 3.1/3.0 is a speed standard, type C is just the shape of the port (they can technically be USB 2). kuri Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Yeah, there aren't too many peripherals with type C yet I believe. It's mostly used for smartphones or tablets. Just be careful with the whole USB Type C cable fisaco: https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung/posts/LH4PPgVrKVN
