catkicker Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Been a long time since I messed with this rig. It's still running great on with it's X6800 Conroe. It's my wife's computer and I thought about popping a quad core in it a Core 2 Extreme QX6850 Is this going to be compatiable. Specs on the board say yes but some of us oldtimers know about DFI

catkicker Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 This might be helpful if you decide to upgrade.... http://www.lejabeach.com/DFI/P35-T2R/ Awesome to see that site is still up. That was the main concern, was not sure if a certain bios was needed for the quad core.

IVIYTH0S Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Pop 'er in and find out...though the informed crowd here seem to say it will work too...so there's really nothing left to do but plug it in and crank it up!
Waco Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Just be careful if you decide to OC, you'll be bumping up on the power limits of the board if you push it hard!
