potatochobit Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 as alot of you know, what makes Firefox great is that you can add extensions to customize your web browser. this is great, but Chrome has this now, too. but over the past year, alot of you may NOT know, Google CODE, which is what many 3rd party extensions use, has gone private into a read-only mode. What that means is, it can no longer be updated or seen by creators. in fact, they no longer even approve new projects. the results are many extensions in chrome are starting not to work, and it is only going to get worse. did you ever get the Aw snap! message in chrome when visiting a google website? maybe a crash trying to run a search from the URL bar? this may be caused by an extension that has no update or a conflict. I've had alot of problems with firefox over the years which is why I stopped using them like huge memory leaks and hardware acceleration crashes. but I do expect alot more from google, so is it a good time to switch back to firefox? El_Capitan Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Yeah, Chrome has become pretty shitty now, but I still use it. Firefox has been the better and more stable browser these days, imo.
Waco Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The only extension I use on Chrome is adblock. Browser syncing is ridiculously convenient.
Braegnok Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) If your getting the Aw Snap! every other page or tab you open,.. check your apps for two instances of Flash Player you should only have one listed in C: if you also have Flash Player listed in Chrome Disable it,.. as having both running will cause page loading to fail. Also Chrome seems to have issues with a bug located in Bookmarks that prevents page loading causing frequent Aw Snap!,.. you can run Kaspersky's TDS Killer.exe to remove bug,.. http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?gid=208283363 Edited September 17, 2015 by Braegnok
