Special_K Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 OK For those of you who don't know I RMA'd my torn up 2200+ TB A, now because of stocking issues and the fact that I sent it to them over a year after the RMA was issued... they're sending me a 1800 (not the 2100 I anticipated) They included this information in the email they sent me... Anyone know its potential? I did a google on it and came up with 2 old forums in english... the rest in some weird language that didn't translate well. We have shipped your AXDA1800 TRAY (AMD OPN#) processor(s), with serial number(s) Z391018A40107 from our AMD Technical Service Center via Federal Express Oh and the pic below is what the 2200+ looked like before the RMA... it still worked too! just not at 2200+ speed <_<
Eva_Unit_0 Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 That info does not tell you anything about the chips potential. You need to know the stepping...those are just the speed rating and the serial number. You'll have to wait to get it to tell. Wow, that 2200+ looks like it had SEVERAL bad encounters with a heatsink...is that how you learned how to install a socket A heatsink? Bah actually yes and no, I installed it myself a few times but the people who screwed it up were Blinc computers in Modesto... They put the V9 on wrong Then wouldn't help me out at all... thanks guys... <_< I was the last AMD customer there too They stopped selling AMD for some reason <_< Well I should get the stepping as soon as I get it... it is in the mail... hopefully soon. The info given doesnt help? Grrr..... oh well my bad.... Maybe I shoulda waited to start this thread Edited March 2, 2004 by Special_K
