Agallion Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 i thought it preformed SLOWER than its northwood counterpart id say if u can use that extra pit of $ and get the 3.2 maybe
Paranoid Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Wait until LGA 775 comes out before you go to Prescott. From what I hear, it will be coming out sooner than originally thought.
Eva_Unit_0 Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 No, for now the prescott is not worth it. It performs slower than an equally-clocked northwood due to the longer pipes. If you have to pick, go with the northwood. I'd say to avoid prescott until socket-T hits.

Paranoid Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 I know someone who got a 3.0C to 3.8GHz with air cooling. Looks like a good idea to me.
Overclocker16 Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 I 3GHz Prescott is equal to maybe a 2.6GHz - 2.8GHz (northwood). Now, that doesn't seem to good... Longer pipe, faster speed, lower performance...The stuff Intel doesn't want you to know about.
