Cyberbeer Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 The RAM says this: Hynix 314A HY5DV281622DT-4 Korea 6Y6278OH
Paranoid Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Looks like 5ns to me
Cyberbeer Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Then whats all this about the last two digits mean the RAM speed? I dont understand.
Eva_Unit_0 Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Looks like it might be 4ns ram. You look at the very end of the great big string of characters. It goes ...22DT-4. So the 4 is probably the speed rating. That means ir probably has a max of about 250mhz, or 500ddr. Could also be 5ns though. Sometimes it is hard to tell. InvaderTrax Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Yeah. I should have been more clear and said that sometimes it only has one digit. Anyway, you should be able to pull a little more out of that RAM if it truly is 4ns
Cyberbeer Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 If I raise it to 250 I will get artifacts...atleast thats what artifact tester 5 says. Or whatever came with the Omega Drivers.
InvaderTrax Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Did you try lowering the core just a bit (and perhaps the memory to maybe 245)? Higher RAM speed is more important than high core speed
Cyberbeer Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Yea no luck, max I can pump out is
Eva_Unit_0 Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Hmmm...that's weird. Too high for 5ns, too slow for 4ns. I think it's probably 4ns ram that is being "neutered" by the non-pro bios. Probably the bios isn't giving the ram the voltage it wants, which limits the overclock you can get. I had that happen with my 9700. With the non-pro bios the highest I could get my memory was about 600mhz, which is well short of the speed it should be able to get. On the pro bios I'm using now, I run my ram at 700mhz no problems. Weird, huh? It's because they want to keep you from overclocking the non-pro cards to pro speeds.
Cyberbeer Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Anything more I can do....and how do I check my AGP voltages I think I can change em?
