The dark sci-fi fantasy world of Warhammer 40,000 is about to get a new entry, as Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr has been announced. This new game is an action-RPG developed by NeocoreGames, the studio responsible for the likes of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing trilogy and the King Arthur series. NeocoreGames describes Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr as a "persistent sandbox action-RPG," with the single player campaign placing us in the shoes of an Inquisition agent. The Inquisition, or The Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition, is a secret organization within the WH40K universe that does not play within the boundaries of the typical administrative hierarchy of the Imperium of Man. It's a secret police force that hunts down any and all threats to the God-Emperor's domain, from Chaos to Heretics, mutants, and rebels, as well as fighting the Tyranids, Orks, and Dark Eldar.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr does not have a ton of details revealed about it, but NeocoreGames did say that once the single player campaign ends, a "colossal sandbox" opens up to allow for "years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content" to help keep players engaged. NeocoreGames seems quite excited to be able to play in the brutal world of Warhammer 40,000 created by Games Workshop, and it should be interesting to see the developer's take on it.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is scheduled to arrive next year for the PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Trailer looks great. Just played through the first Van Helsing game and think I will pick up the 2nd and 3rd in the next Steam sale. Very fun game to play, hopefully this is the same. I love games set in the Warhammer universes.
