gebraset Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It was reported yesterday by news outlet DIGITIMES that ECS was apparently leaving the DIY motherboard market due to increased pricing competition from other Taiwan-based motherboard vendors. The report, which was sourced from Taiwan-based supply chain makers, indicated that ECS would shift its focus towards ODM production of notebooks and tablets as well as production of mini-PCs. The President of ECS, Sunny Yang, has since released an official statement that explains that the motherboard manufacturer has no plans of leaving the DIY motherboard business as the DIGITIMES article referenced. According to Yang, ECS remains committed to the DIY motherboard market and values the relationship the company currently has with consumers across the world. ECS plans to incorporate additional resources in the future that will allow its motherboard business to continue to advance and reach as many people as possible, thereby ensuring long-term growth. AkakmanH Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 My two cents - ECS rates at the bottom of quality and features. They try - but.......... Three years ago, one local computer supply had stopped carrying them because every opther board was being returned I hope they improve their quality as the reasonable cost of their products fits the pocketbook of entry users.
