you know my wife brought something to my attention 2 years ago I had a pretty bad cycling accident and suffered a major concussion and a subdural hematoma. and after that I seem to have lost the ability to focus and stay interested on any one thing which would explain why I have lost interest in gaming.

Bummer dude, I would see a doctor about that if you haven't already. You might have concussed yourself so hard you got ADD or something similar.

it was 2 years ago and you are correct the first symptoms was was personality changes i was pretty much bipolar

i would get very angry for no reason then after a year it subsided and now its like i  lose interest on stuff really quick.

i was tested in grade school for gifted classes and my IQ tested around 130 and i graduated high school at 14 i am seriously afraid to be retested.

the moral  of the story is wear a helmet.

I figured out why I don't care for pc gaming much.. Have you seen the last billion games? they all have been ported from consoles to PC. look at batman, the console versions look better! these game companies need to start having a dedicated PC team and make sure the games look better than consoles. not sub par. And people wonder why piracy is so big....

I picked up Battleblock theater for super cheap on steam and it is the most fun I have had in years with a platformer. You could probably run it on a netbook but if you have a controller it is so worth it. I spent 15 times more on the controller than the game but I love it. Totally worth it.

I'm no where near as addicted to gaming and hardware upgrades as I was a few years back.  I've managed to put more balance back into my life.  Getting out and fishing more, plus dumping all of my spare cash in the bike.

Hard to spend $500 bucks on a new video card when I could spend $500 on a new set of headers or some other accessory or performance piece for the bike.  And overall I'm happier with the changes.  I still game, but it is usually a second or a third choice instead of a first choice.

Of course there are the winter months and rainy days - but even then I find myself watching something on TV.  I got to the point with a certain FPS game that I started coming away from a gaming session feeling discouraged, angry and flat out frustrated.  At that point I knew it was time to take a breather.

I remember when i was hard core into gaming. Mechwarrior online and wow.... Now i don't do either. And i can go a few days without gaming and its no big deal. Not sure what happened as i really like the games. Stuff just got old i guess. Heck i killed it in mwll. 3 gtx 480s air cooled and was playing with one of the most hardcore systems in the game. But that was then and this is now. Just don't have the desire or time to do it.

I'm officially in this catagory!

Early this year I became bored with games. Not actually gaming. I loved STALKER series, Oblivion, Skyrim and Borderlands trilogy, but I'm not a fan of most other stuff. I just played over and over again. I want add ons but that doesn't happen.

I upgraded this week but didn't get as much fun out of the hands on.

JDM: I had encephalitis when I was 9. Sixty years ago, and I agree that these brain injuries make you different sometimes. I still feel like a dumb 9YO. Except I'm a dumb 69YO. I was diagnosed with stress agression. 50 years after. Dad had a head injury during the war and suffered from stress agression. But nobody knew till he'd passed away.

I have to take Zoloft or I get agro again. Also I have short term memory loss, so I have to ask you guys a lot of questions. Again and again. Sorry 'bout that!

Wev, I raced my old Yammie 650 way back when and I can tell you that bike riding really feels great. Geez, I remembered that! Haven't been able to afford a bike for the last 25 years.

Gaming is cheaper that Bike riding, doing up old cars, smoking and boozing. So I spend my life gaming. Unless my family wants something, then it is usually "Yes dear!"

This short comment brings me to the point I wanted to make. I was told that MS wants us all to have Win 10 so that game developers can concentrate on PC games and not so much on console games.

Any body else heard that?
