Fallout 4 - Coming November 10, 2015

Recommended Posts

59 Hours into the game so far. As usual in any Bethesda game, I did everything but the story-line quests. I've completed the majority of the locations north of Diamond City. I still haven't gone to Diamond City yet. Haven't used a power suit since the first quest either. I'm slowly making my way to do missions for Minutemen.

Right now my go to weapon for Deathclaws is a Combat Shotgun. If I could find a Legendary version of this gun with either +Bleed/Elemental damage or Stagger on Hit that would be pretty insane.

No idea why they decide to put melee bash and throw grenade on the same key

My go-to for deathclaws is a minigun. Or a missile launcher.

Diamond City has a ton of stuff and more quests to do. You guys are missing out. Right now I'm halfway through the second Act, but I haven't explored much of the northeast coast, the southern third, or half of Boston itself. I do have a dozen Power Armors, with only three still missing parts.

BluePanda, is that with unlocked frame rate/fov? Found that the frame rate is a major cause for motion sickness/headache for me, fov is less noticeable for me.

I like playing with unlocked framerate because the lockpicking and I think the terminal hacking runs at like x7 speed for me :D ty old engine kek

A big complaint I have is the mouse/keyboard navigation, the terminal thing is like half mouse and half keyboard, would be cool if the mouse left click/right click counted as enter/tab when in the terminal. That and after you tab back you have to move off a button and back on so the game recognises the mouse position. That and acceleration etc.

It's also annoying that changing perspective is tied to the workshop button so it gets a bit annoying when you're in a settlement. And some other things too. Including that melee/grenade mash fest mentioned above :/ We has le freedom of keys on pc, pls recognise that bethesda

Also learning that the map cells have levels is annoying so if you explore stuff before levelling loot there is tied to the level you first visited at :////////////////////////////////////////////////////

You do know you can just use the mouse wheel to change the view instead of hitting V, right?

I've only thrown a molotov once when I wanted to bash. Every other time I've learned to just tap the button instead of holding it down.

I tend to use the arrow keys, E, and Tab when browsing the terminals. You can double click on the screen and zoom in on it, both when hacking and just viewing it. Same for the Pip-Boy. And really Dan, just use that config tool I've linked to remove mouse acceleration instead of complaining about it.

Still haven't played the game but lol to finding out you can operate a power armor suit on drugs instead of fusion cores, I'm totally going to use them like that to be an ass

Yeah I know but it gets boring after a while :P easier to hit middle mouse button to go back to last zoom level in tp

Keep forgetting about that tool >.<

I was worried about the map size with all the stuff people were saying a few days before launch but it seems fine(maybe not as big as I expected but meh), might be because I'm using the power armour all the time tho :D Got my footstep sounds maxed out for it <3 Also like how people recognise you have power armour now to some extent

Any vendors that sell mini nukes/ launcher ammo? I got like 5 launchers but 1/0 ammo :(

The settlement stuff is pretty fun, but for the food thing do you have to assign a person to each individual plant or is one enough and it knows which ones to do from there on?

Codsworth won't approve of that IVI :D

If you build the level 3 weapons vendor in Sanctuary Hills, you can buy mini nukes. Otherwise just have to find them in the world. Or kill a super mutant suicider before he gets close enough to you. And do you mean missiles or something else with "launcher" ammo? The missiles can be bought from Diamond City, Goodneighbor, the traveling merchant Trashcan Carla (sometimes, dunno if guaranteed always), and Deb in Bunker Hill. Can also get a decent amount from the Castle, too.

Download the tool. World of difference there.

Each settler can work up to six food, so that's 12 total plants if they're all at 0.5. The mutfruit plants are one food each, so only six of those can be worked by one person. I usually assign one settler to a plant and let them handle the rest if needed, but like I said, the mutfruits are a bit harder to figure in since they basically count as two of the other food types.

I used to play games with dramamine and energy drinks. Fight the sickness and stay awake. lol.

FOV mod helps a bit -- but still seems like I can only play an hour or two at a time. If I stop early I can play again sooner than later...

But right now I need to knock out a review so I can get back to playing the game!!

Nah much funner to shoot the arm of the suicider lol, tends to kill all the other super mutants too ^.^

Wish I went to Diamond City earlier, bought a plasma pistol and launcher ammo among other things there :D

So you only need to assign a person to one plant and they tend up to another 5 automatically?

That sucks... or probably a good thing lol, at least you don't have to deal with "I'll only play another 5 minutes" D:

Anybody got some mad settlements? :)

I'll take some more pics of my settlements. Over a dozen of them so far. I have older pics, but the places are built up and beyond when those were taken.

Yeah, I just assign one settler to a plant and then the rest nearby are taken care of, provided there are enough available. Settlers will also cycle between guard posts if you assign them to one, but I tend to assign one settler to each guard post if I can.

I told you people to go to Diamond City instead of avoiding it. So much to do there, so much to see! Two companions are there, a ton of weapons, armor, ammo, and health. There are people to change your appearance, both hair and face/body. More quests than just the main ones, including some that are pretty easy to complete. There's a Wanted poster to get you some caps and whatever loot you acquire taking out whatever it asks. A house to buy. Loads more.

Cool to know that, I don't have to assign the same guy to different plants any more :D

The companion ai is more sketchy that I'd like it to be, they keep getting stuck or not following for some reason :( Had that tab not working about 5 times in one session too :/ Can't wait to see what that patch bring.

Starting to ventre into the south half of the map, wonder what that'll hold in stock, haven't seen deathclaws in a while :)

Is it possible to build elevators for settlements? Would be cool to store power armour at the top of a building for obvious reasons with a fast way to get there

Good luck in the southern part of the map. I saw two deathclaws up in the northern area. They were together and I didn't feel like messing with them, so I avoided them. That eventually brought me to a Behemoth, but it was just one of him.

No for elevators, just stairs.
