Wierd redirect when trying to access the forums from the main page

Recommended Posts

When trying to get to the forums from the link on the main page I will, on my first attempt get redirected to a page that wants me to download some kind of download manager. This only happens at OCC.

Malware scans have come up negative.

Ideas?

I'd say you definitely have malware somewhere on the system, try cleaning internet cash, temp files and cookies or run malwarebytes and ccleaner.

Check your installed programs to see what was installed recently. Could be something hiding that doesn't show during a malware scan.

My mom had problems in the past with malware that was installed on the SSD/HDD and the only way to remove it was to go through the invisible folders of the C: drive. I suspect you have the same problem, but with a different ware.

It was located somewhere in appdata/roaming if i recall correctly, Try hitmanpro and see if that shows anything (i know you checked, but a double check with a different program may do the trick, you never know) If it does, don't let hitman delete it, do it yourself, hitman will show the location where it can be found.

Another thing you could check are the extensions of Chrome, it could be that there is something hidden that you didn't install.

Hitman got flagged by malwarebytes the last time I used it. :(

Odd, i never had any problems with it.

Maybe malwarebytes doesn't like hitman since it is its competitor? :P
