Did you crank down the mounting screws evenly and reasonably tightly when they bottomed out?

Ahhh I'm not sure what bottomed out is: I speak english as second language but I think the mounting screws were evenly placed. First I put them pretty tight with a tool, Then I untighted them and only applied hand-force. I saw a video where the guy sows the mounting-thing is not 100% freezed (unmovable) until you connect the pump.

Didn't you measure the Frio'd fit in nicely, why'd you get the H60 (though I'd of also assumed that the H60 would fit in easier too)

Anyway, maybe the motherboard is not uniform or warped, since it seems that all coolers cannot mount it correctly?

No one of the sellers had that. This was the only choice I found searching in many stores (only 2 stores had this). Then I was offered of a Titan Skalli, Loki II and Janus ¿? I really don't know those  brands.
I dunno, check the last picture. That thermal paste was the one from the cooler (pre-installed) which is a lil-bit hard.

Ok, as you can see in the picture the hose/hosepipe is touching the case side where it should be placed the 23cm fan (I cannot install it anymore =/). Instead, in a nigga way, I installed a 12cm Thermaltake fan attaching it with a metalic wire of cooper. See

Temps idle changed now from 47 to 37!!!!!!!!!

Note the ambient is pretty hot. I'm somehow sweating so it must be 30+ inside this room.
Now I am more ok =)

Load Gaming 47-53ºc max so far. I believe ambient is at 26-28ºC not sure. Tere is an A/C on the living room, so my bedroom is a bit hotter. I measure with ASUS AI Suite always.

I know lately the stock cooler broke one of the leg that's why reached 100ºC but when the computer was ok with same game I'm testing now Watchdogs I think it was 70-75ºC

Ps: When I'm playing temperature is like 53max but when I Alt+Tab to see temperatures it goes down like 47ºC.

With Prime95 it goes pretty high like 80+

Real Temp is measuring higher tan ASUS but is talking abut Distance to TJ max I don't know what the beeeep is that:P

I saw this:

http://forums.overcl...c=180624&page=1

what kind of configuration are they using for test?
I'd like to try so I can compare in a more aproximate way, just like them.

The reason your seeing 2 different cpu temps is the asus program is giving you the cpu temp off a sensor on the mb, while core temp is giving you the temps of each core, which are higher than the cpu temp. TJ max is the temp that the cpu will either start to  throttle down or shut down the pc to protect the cpu. Looks like your tjmax is 100c.

Well. As for what is temperature checking I will see the one that is being informed by AI Suite since all my life used that for checking temps.

For Prime95 testing and comparisson with the guys I can use that tool.

Personally I don't trust that Tjmax. My CPU was at 100ºC and It didn't shutted down.

I'm taking this from now on a real challenge.

I've been checking this thread

http://forums.overcl...howtopic=180624

I will try to go cooler as possible doing maximun research.

I'm pretty sure the contact surface is ok and thermal paste too, I did it many times getting same results so that it.

I had to remove one big 23cm fan (it is supossed to be there due to Case design) but It doesn't fit with the H60, instead I put a 12cm and it helped with 10ºC less. Now I will try adding 1 fan 12cm to radiator to test push/pull (I saw several guys trying that) and I have 1 extra cooler working, thanks god.

Did you buy that infrared thermometer?

Did you buy that infrared thermometer?

No, I couldn't. It is pretty expensive. Around $600-800 is like half the price of this H60.

I made another test with PUSH-PULL method. Some degrees less. Note the PULL FAN is like 1100+ RPM (not much more than that)

2e0l8nd.png

Little progress for science :P

Maybe the "problem" is my physical processor. My own not model I mean the one I have. Like if it was overheating more than a normal one in good condition. I told you with the stock I was at 100ºC just gaming. When I removed the FAN intel it wasn't loose. Maybe no super tight but not loose at all.
I researched but found no evidence that a processor might overheat for a fault or something.

I dunno If I should really "worry", I don't meant to OC or just play with prime95 just tell myself this temps are withing a "considerable range" but so far my temps looks much higer than the rest. For gaming I'm as cool as I want. Really happy with that.

I just found my GPU gtx460 was at 95ºC with Watchdogs.. never happened that before. I think I'll clean it and see what happens.

This is the thermal paste I am using.

http://www.edelta.co... siliconada.pdf

I just checked and the AS5 is currently at least 3 times more the value than mine (even tough mine has much more content so we could say for sure 5 times the value). Mine is $45 10cc (dunno how much grams but is way more than the AS5 container), AS5 3.5g is $150 and 12g around $360

For sure not the best, but well. AS5 says they can go 3-12 degress lower than standard ones. Mine is a standard for sure.

And BTW. My i7 950 is 130W TDP so it is very hot. Maybe results are not that wrong having all those considerations.

AS5 isn't really the cream of the crop, and really with any TIM you're splitting hairs anyway. I'm sure what you have is fine.

Also, if it isn't throttling, I wouldn't worry about, as strange as its behavior appears to be.

Yes I will stop this since I'm a bit obsessive and I spend 50% of work day reading forums, reviews and everything. And pretty much time in my house too.

I cleaned GPU and re-applied thermal paste so changed from 44-95ºC to 37-72ºC.

And about the CPU well I cannot reach 65 as some guys do, even tought I have water cooling. Maybe they are lucky, or their case, ambient and paste is better (which improves the situation), also depends on the processor. The i7 950 is the warmest processor out there with higher TDP.

I wil just relax and play games that's all  you guys are cool
