Star Wars: Jango Fett's Race

Recommended Posts

We all know the clone troopers are clones of Jango Fett but do we know what race he was?

Black?

White?

What skin color do Mandalorians have?

I believe in previous episodes he was portrayed as dark-skinned but apparently in our current, race-sensitive climate, the actor in the trailer is getting sh*t for his role.

What a bunch of losers we as humanity are (at least we as Americans)

Instead of answering your question, I'm going to address the underlying issue: Because of the prequel trilogy, people assume the entirety of the Imperial Army is comprised solely of clones.

This is not true. Though not really addressed in the movies (esp as stormtroopers are not shown without helmets), we can assume the clones were largely phased out after the Clone Wars as they age much faster than normal, are expensive to produce, and the Empire no longer has a need to raise a secret army. So the stormtroopers in the original trilogy are most likely mostly conscripts and enlisted.

Not to mention that the actor in the stormtrooper outfit might not even be a stormtrooper...

In the books, prior to the Battle of Yavin, the Clone Troopers are just that, and fight for the Republic. I could be wrong but once they are Stormtroopers (fighting for the bad guys) they then start to have conscripts.

Really it would NOT be possible for them to be conscripts prior to then as Order 66 was a subliminal program to turn on the Jedi that was programmed in their clone maturation stage!

Jango Fett is just a regular human who was adopted by Mandalorians, who themselves were just a multi-species group united by a culture. The actor who played Jango, Temuera Morrison, is from New Zealand and of Maori descent (hence the darker skin tone).

Jango's clones continued to serve the Republic and then Empire, although their dwindling numbers were offset by enlisted troops. The clone troopers were renamed stormtroopers when the Republic became the Empire, and like I said they consisted of whatever remaining Jango clones there were, new clones created from different people other than Jango, and any enlisted soldiers who joined up. Due to the Empire's anti-alien policy, stormtroopers were human men and women (mostly men, since women were rare).

Jango's my favorite character, Boba's more popular but Jango had way better action (in the movies). I don't care what his race is (spanish/black whatever lol) he's still the man. Mandalorian doesn't have to be bound to anyone one species/race!

well in the movie Jango Fett is like mexican / spanish decent. In the books I do not know. Plus if you want to get real techincal he isn't even from earth (which doesn't exist) in star wars so it doesn't matter. though I will say if they are all suppose to be clones of one guy, they should get continued that unless they explain that more clones where made.
