dacul Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) "The CPU performance of the A6-6400K is about on a level of a 2.2 to 2.4 GHz Pentium processor of the Sandy Bridge generation." http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-A-Series-A6-6400B-Desktop-Processor.96965.0.html For these specs I upgrade an Intel Pentium 2.4GHz Compaq notebook, with only 4GB ram, with a seagate 500GB -7200 rpm- 64MB buffer. Did this for some kids after the previous hdd died. Installed the 8.1 windows and runs smooth. With some tweaks after. In your case I would add another 4GB if there are only 4. I assume it does have UEFI bios. Even if it is setted to work on both dual core, I would check the boot on system configuration to enable all cores. And from here many tweaks can be done. With or without the help of an SSD. Would be useful if you give us more details on the specs. Or the product name.
