Carterjj Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I've searched and can't get a real good answer but I plan on OCing my 6300 and I want to know what liquid cooling kit I should use. I want to keep as cool as possible. I'm using the cooler master elite 431 case.
slick2500 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) I would say any of the units with a dual 120 rad. Here are a few that I found on Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103181 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181060 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214058 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835209080 Edited October 4, 2014 by slick2500
Carterjj Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I kinda figured a dual would be best the case is basically set up for a dual 120 set up.
Carterjj Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I've been reading reviews and I'm leaning towards a refurbished h100i
ccokeman Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Thats not a bad option. I used that cooler when I looked at the 9590, 9370, 8370 and 8370E and it held up fine as long as you are reasonable with the applied voltages.
Carterjj Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Well I've never oced before so I plan to take it slow until I fully understand everything
ohldboy Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 When I look at the Cooler Master Elite 431 there appears no room at top for radiators. One front and rear? Just not a liquid cool case.
Carterjj Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Ohldboy you might be right. It is pretty tight. But a thin radiator might fit. I may just wait until I get a full tower
slick2500 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) I mounted a 240mm radiator on the top of my Enermax Coenus, sure the fans are on top of the case, but it still works. Edited October 5, 2014 by slick2500
Carterjj Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I could mount it in top but at the same time I don't know if I would want to
ccokeman Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Depending on how far your motherboard and memory modules are from the top of the chassis you may be able to get away with an in case solution. If that will not work then just about any of the 120mm based solutions will work. The H80i would be a good choice if you prefer Corsair. doyll Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) I would not go that route of a refurb because of limited warranty. Every wonder where all the coolers came for to be refurbished? My guess is RMA and very possibly even new ones because of the much reduced warranty and liability limits on refurbs. Corsair Hydro series and expeically the H100 have a long history of problems .. mostly pump failures and leaks. Honestly, top air coolers are almost always better cooling, make much less noise, have almost no problems with dependabilty and cost less then CLCs do.
