OCC Poll on Hiatus Poll

So how does the hiatus makes you feel?

I liked the polls when there was a few hundred people participating in them. Had a lot of good debates and such. However there seems to be far less interest in them. But really how hard is it to create a poll? I mean OP just made one from the announcement of there not being a poll.

 

I think the polls are suffering not from a lack of excitement, but from a lack of use by the OCC community. What fun is a multiplayer game with no one else?

On a lot of forums, there are people who will respond to a thread with constructive answers and there are people who will start threads, and then you have lurkers. Lurkers just don't want to be involved, they are mostly curious about the forum. You have others that will add to a thread, but they will rarely take the time to create a thread and follow it. Here, the core of the thread starters has moved on, where there is still some indomitable Gauls that keep going on.

 

Then there is competition, where they review a lot of stuff, in lots of variants (think of 290x, where some reviewed the Asus DCU II, MSI, Gigabyte, sapphire). Inevitably this draws attention and keeps the forums active with questions and suggestions. They don't even need to do the frametime stuff, people like seeing simple bars saying this one has more FPS than the other.

 

Maybe we would need a poll asking what draws us at Computer enthusiasts sites?
