Onion Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) I have an invitation card that I made on photoshop. I made it as a 5x7 at 72 PPI. I still have the original PSD and it still has all the original layers. Is there any way to upscale it, rather than redo it from scratch? I think I seriously fucked up. Currently, the image is 360 by 504. Would that look like crap if printed on nice paper or is that density not that bad? Edit: I upscaled it 200% using the bicubic smoother function, it looks alright and the text upscaled nicely since it was the original file. Would a 360x504 look bad on a 5x7? I'm just curious. ir_cow Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 yeah you'll have to redo it. the best you can do is double the size without too many issues. If you have all the layers the text is still in vertex format than scaling that won't be a problem. can you post the image so I know what you have? It may be savable...depends really. ClayMeow Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 For professional-quality print, you want 300dpi. If it's not too detailed, then you can get away with 150.

ir_cow Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 well all the text will be fine if its still a layer. the design will just get more blurry so that you will have to redo if you care. for professional printing you want either 150 or 300 and if it's not a photo than you won't notice 300 DPI generally. edit: to clarify the text needs to be in vertex format and not rasterize into a layer. Onion Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Thankfully I started working on it was ahead of time so I have time to make it again. I appreciate the offer. Having an art degree, could you PM me some suggestions on how to improve it? Thanks for the offer by the way.

Being a graphic designer and all, i could give some input if you are willing to show the design (the one in this topic was deleted i guess?). You can hear both hornybluecow's and my opinions so you can broaden your choices.
